This one is definitely going to be short. This newsletter gives you something to read while I find more time to work on the Moon Knight finale. I read so many comic books on my trip to Michigan, but I just wanted to talk about Silk and Moon Knight because they were titles we already talked about on the site. I will talk about comics I read without getting too into it. Let’s jump right in!
Silk #3 (Mar 2022) Vol 4
Cindy dealt with the personal toll of being Silk. She is a superhero with countless supporters but being a superhero with a demanding boss like J Jonah Jameson caused her to miss out on making more friends, dating, and hobbies. That sounds like a Spider-Man-related issue. Cindy continued to investigate the old Korean witch who turned young people into elderly. She went to help one of her only friends, Rafferty, pack for her move. After one of her fans or minions sent Rafferty an email, it clicked for Cindy why the Korean witch hunted down social influencers. The witch hunted leaders with followers during her time, and in modern society, influencers hold similar weight. She located an influencer and found the Korean witch. She gave Silk her backstory. She gained her powers as a child, and as time passed, it became an obsession to feed off the strength of the leaders. Everyone thought they defeated her but only banished her from their time. The witch was here to strike again. Silk put up an amusing fight against the witch. She webbed her up, but it wasn’t a great idea. The witch was able to drain her power from the webbing. Ouch. Old Silk laid on the roof. The 400-year-old witch looked young as she could be. How will Cindy get out of this??
Moon Knight #10 (April 2022) Vol 9
Moon Knight hasn’t been able to catch Zodiac yet. Will he get any closer?! Moon Knight sat with Dr. Andrea Sterman in his Moon Knight attire instead of his usual Mr. Knight suit. He talked about his encounter with Rutherford Winner, an assassin. His mind was destroyed and rewritten by Hydra. Dr. Sterman insisted Winner couldn’t be saved as he was a wild dog in the streets. During their fight, Winner wanted Dr. Sterman back as his therapist. Moon Knight used the House to catch Winner off-balanced and won. In Marc’s session, Dr. Sterman commented on the difference between Winner and Moon Knight. They were both rewritten. One by Hydra, another by Khonshu. Their distinction was their containment of actions. Dr. Sterman didn’t note what Winner and Marc had in common. They both wanted to get better. At that moment, Moon Knight promised whoever the imposter was that if Dr. Andrea Sterman was dead, they would only know pain for the rest of their existence. Moon Knight knew the person in front of him was really Waxman. Waxman didn’t think Marc would catch and felt Zodiac would be upset the plan didn't go accordingly. Moon Knight promised pain, and he wasn’t joking. He tossed liquid nitrogen grenades, which froze him into stiffness. Moon Knight, alongside Soldier, Tigra, and Winner, brought Waxman to a construction yard. Moon Knight told Waxman if he didn’t give up Sterman’s location, he would bury him in concrete. Even after Waxman gave Marc what he wanted, Moon Knight still buried him alive. He told everyone if they didn’t like what happened, they could leave. No one said a thing. They had to move fast because there would be blood tonight! Wow, this series continues to get better and better. I’m really enjoying it.
Honorable Mention: The Amazing Spider-Man #269-291 Vol 1
Yeah, I’m not going to talk about all these issues I read from the Amazing Spider-Man. Although, I could! I had an amazing time reading this arc. Peter’s personal problems were as important as his Spider-Man duties. Both being intertwined made the story even richer. I had an idea for the next MCU trilogy; these issues could be an inspiration. I felt the story could connect because of where Spidey was left off after Spider-Man: No Way Home. The hobgoblin is a big part of those issues, and a big gang war could be exciting for Tom’s Spidey. Other characters could appear like Daredevil and The Punisher. His love interest could be MJ again. It is a chance to give her more character development. I, for one, want that to happen. Of course, Black Cat can make an appearance as well. They would have to switch things around to make the story make sense in the MCU, but it could happen. I would love it.
Hello there! I’m happy you took the time out of your day to read my post. Remember if you have any questions or want to have a discussion, leave a comment! The next newsletter will be about the Moon Knight Finale. Stay tuned! Happy days and take care!
