(Spoiler Warning!)
Well, I want to go ahead and apologize for the late newsletter. I had no idea I would be busy because of work. Not only that, I had little to no energy for typing. It was a strange weekend, which hopefully doesn’t happen again. For that reason, I’ll make this review quick and short.
After Khonshu and Mr. Knight changed the night sky to align the stars as they were 2,000 years ago, the Gods stoned Khonshu. It left Marc/Steven without his powers. Layla and Steven had to find Ammit before Harrow. The clock is ticking as the series has two episodes left. Once we get to episode four on any Disney+ series, we are in for a treat. Did Moon Knight meet our expectations? Let’s find out!
I’m not even sure how to start this. I knew Layla would fall for Steven, and I had no doubt Steven would feel the same. I’m still wondering how everything would work because of the different personalities. Marc didn’t like how Steven was acting, though. The conflict between the two personalities is rich. It made the ending so much heartwarming. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I’m not surprised Khonshu wanted Layla as his next avatar. She handled herself so well. The camera work and jumpscares were on point. It kills me to see Harrow pop up on my screen. I don’t hate the character’s story or writing. I feel Hawke’s performance was meant to make you feel that way. Anyways, he told Layla about her father’s death. She wanted the truth, but she expected Marc to tell her before Harrow did. Steven found Ammit’s stone inside Alexander the Great’s throat. How cool was that, by the way? He celebrated while Layla looked at him furiously. Marc told her about her father’s death. And yes, it was very similar to his comic book origin. Marc’s partner, Bushman, was a greedy man. He took anything and killed anyone he wanted. He killed Peter Alraune, a well-known archaeologist, but Marc stopped it. Before he could kill his daughter, Marc stopped it. He met Marlene Alraune later that night and received his powers close by her. It’s pretty rad.
Harrow and his men stood in front of Marc waiting for him to turn over Ammit. Marc felt he could take them on, but Harrow wasted no time at all. He shot him twice, and Marc fell into the deep waters. Ready to be rebirth. The soundtrack made the scene god-tier, sheesh. The format changed, and everything got wild. Steven Grant was on the screen, but it wasn’t Steven like we know him. There was Crawley, the Rubik's cube, cupcakes, Harrow’s, his people, Donna, Khonshu, Layla, Marc, and Moonknight. It was filled with all clues from previous episodes. My mind was racing. What is happening? Was this in Marc’s head or reality? At first, I thought they tricked us, but I do believe it is in Marc’s mind. He is making amends with himself. So far, he had felt like Steven was getting in the way of things. In this place, he’ll realize how significant his different personalities are to him. I’m sure the third identity is coming; I didn’t know how exciting I would be just for a third one. I’m hyped because the show has been building it up. Goddess Taweret freaked Marc, Steven, and myself at the end. Could this get even weirder? But no, it ended right there. If I’m correct, Goddess Taweret usually has something to do with birth and resurrection. She’ll be the one to resurrect Marc and possibly, help him become one again. The episodes keep getting better and better. I can’t wait for the penultimate episode!
Hello there! I’m happy you took the time out of your day to read my post. Remember if you have any questions or want to have a discussion, leave a comment! The next newsletter will be on Moon Knight episode five, and possibly, a Comic Reading for the Week. I have a trip to Michigan this week, so I hope to have enough time to get these newsletters out. Apologies again for this week, though. I feel terrible. I’ll try to make it up to everyone who reads these with a surprise reading. Stay tuned! Happy days and take care!
